Affirmative Prayer

Beloveds …

Today is “Maunday Thursday” the commemoration of the Last Supper in the Christian tradition.

“It was before Passover, and Jesus knew that the time had come for him to leave this world .. . He had always loved his followers in this world, and he loved them to the very end.”  He accepted their humanness that included betrayal and denial, yet he loved them and  declared his love for them by introducing a “new commandment.”

“I give you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, so you also must love each other.” [John 13:34]

So this is what I know about Love …

Being that Love is the most powerful healing force in the Universe, when we give Love to one another we bridge any gap that may exist between us and heal all that is unlike Love Itself.  When Jesus declared, “Just as I have love you, so you must love each other,” there were no conditions on his giving of Love. He simply loved.  Just as Jesus did not impose conditions on his giving of Love, this is how we are commanded to love.

I now speak my word on behalf of all Creation …

There is only One Creative Source that I choose to call God.  It is omniscient, omnipresent and omnipotent.  There is nothing apart from It – it is expressing as all Creation.  I know that I am one within that Creation, an individuation of the One Creative Source, an incarnation of Spirit.  I know that what is true of me is true of all other individuations of Spirit.  I am inseparable from all Creation.  As I speak my word, I speak as one …

Today, the commemoration of Jesus’ sharing of his “new commandment,” I give my full attention to Love.  I understand that to fulfill this commandment, each of us must embrace being an activity of God AS Love.  It is ours to be the presence of Love in all situations.  It is ours to give Love with no conditions, no limits.  We are each the embodiment of Love.  We are Love’s instruments in the world. As Love, we are healers.  In the presence of such Love, Peace is experienced –Love Prevails as Peace.

I joyously commit to do my part to bring about the fulfillment of this commandment.  I commit to simply being an activity of God as Love.

I am so grateful for this knowing … for the knowing that this is mine to be and that everything needed for me to do my part is imbued in me.  I am fully prepared by Spirit, as Spirit.

I release this prayer, confident that it is already unfolding, already being fulfilled.

And So It Is!

As Love and Peace,

Rev Trish
